Stopped into Cingular, Verizon and a T-Mobile stores today to continue my quest to buy a new cell phone. I like to get a lot of information before making decisions. Have narrowed my options to the Sony Ericsson W810i (Cingular), the Blackberry Pearl (T-Mobile) and the Samsung A990 (Verizon). The prices online are a lot less than the ones in stores — Amazon has the A990 for $249, $100 less than Verizon. Still have to check out Sprint phones.
Decisions, decisions….
The Blackberry Pearl is really awesome, if I could toss in my two bits; congrats by the way!
How is the call quality?? I have to analyze this decision from all possible angles. I may even make a spreadsheet.
P.S. Evan that Nokia N80 you mentioned looks great, but I guess it lacks a carrier in the U.S.? That means I’d have to buy an unlocked, unsubsidized version which is $$$.
Always find a smaller fone better than then the bigger ones like the BB but this thing as an overall package is good on all fronts. Spreadsheet? You got too much time …
You know how I wrote about how having too many choices can leave one paralyzed? (I was talking about dating, but it’s applicable to all fields). That is me in a nutshell Ariana. I must have the best one possible. And there are so many good phones out there … tough to choose…
I have sorta narrowed it down between the Pearl and the W810…. cannot … decide…
Have you used a Sony Ericsson phone before? I haven’t, but I have heard the user interface isn’t that great. Is there somewhere you can actually try a working model of the phone before you buy, rather than just look at a non functional display model?
An ex of mine, Deb, has the 810. She loves it; says she has no plans to trade it up until it dies. I’ve played around with it and it does seem pretty good. Nice, small size, too.
