So I have a LOT of socks. A lot a lot a lot. I think it all dates back to when I lived in New Hampshire in the late ’90s and had a lot of disposable income but had to drive to the laundromat … sometimes I’d just end up buying new socks or underwear to avoid doing laundry. All the underwear has worn out, but I think socks have a lot of longevity.
Unfortunately socks often go missing. So for months — maybe even years — I have had this big laundry basket full of mismatched socks. I would periodically go through them from time to time and even recruited C. once, early in our relationship, for help with this.
However she was gone this week and I decided to try to do a little apartment cleaning. And I needed to be ruthless about it. So I did my best to pair ’em up … but these mismatched little socks had to die. Sorted by color as I am a sock-segregationist.
P.S. I also have a lot of mismatched gloves.
Good man. I’ve seen your sock collection and his needed to be done. And it will leave you with more space and make matching the remaining socks easier as well.
i see at least one matching pair in the coloreds piled. ha .. the coloreds.
as i moved into my twenties and thirties my mother still bought me socks and underwear for christmas. i finally had to ask her to stop buying them for me, i had over 40 pairs of socks! the maternal instinct never dies.
