Okay. I admit it. PANIC MODE. What the eff? The lead is just down to four games? I was excited about the Gagne deal. For the record I want to say I never gloated or counted out the Yankees. My buddy John Wolfson — author of some cool articles on the Red Sox — once told me you can never count out the friggin’ Yankees. “They’re like vampires,” he said. “You have to drive a stake through their heart, cut off their head, stick garlic in their mouth and incinerate the body. Otherwise they just come back.”

Don’t panic bro. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. We still have some pretty good horses, and Paps and Oki in the 8th and 9th, while Gagne tries to work out his control. We just need a bat, or some clutch hitting. Gotta love Rivera’s last two outings too. The law of averages has to swing back on the Yanks O eventually, while Father Time catches up to the rotation. Joba is a stud tho–he’s lights out. Mo’s walk-year is not well-timed.
Gagne has hurt us with two blown games. He’s gotta have bats in his belfry now. I wouldn’t trust him when the Yankees are in the batters box.
Youk needs to find his stroke again too.
