I am hangin’ with Dylan here in the Venice Beach section of sunny Los Angeles. It is very dry, cool and beautiful here. I’d only been to L.A. once before, for a weekend. Yesterday Dylan, his wife Phoebe and I went for a very long run through Will Rogers and Temescal state parks — along the Temescal fire road and around a canyon. It was beautiful and H-I-L-L-Y. Just 14 miles, supposedly, but took us 3 hrs 40 minutes. Did not feel like we were in an urban area at all — except every so often, we’d reach the top of a ridge and get to look down on multimilllion dollar homes a frisbee’s throw away. That, and the power lines. But a run.
Heading to Hawaii tomorrow! Two nights/three days in Waikiki, then on to Kauai for the wedding.
Post photos of Kauai! Maggie and I are thinking of going there later this fall.
