I have finally upgraded to the Gillette Fusion Power. And I gotta say, it is pretty nice. It just glides over my cheeks. I put off buying the Mach 3 power for years; when I finally tried it I was so sorry I did. Most guys have to shave just about everyday, so you might as well make it as pleasant as possible. Life’s small pleasures…
Agreed. I recently bought the Mach 5, or whatever it’s called, by mistake– and ended up loving it. Much more effective than the Mach 3. You still need a mortgage to afford the damned things, but an excellent product.
HA!
What cracks me up about your post is that my wife is a HUGE sucker for the newest, fanciest women’s razor that shows up at the supermarket. I think it’s all in the packaging, really. But hey, she’s happy, right?
Although it doesn’t really work as well as a blade, I use a Braun electric for the daily shave and the Mach 3 for more formal days (meetings, handshake events, anything I’d have to wear a tie and jacket to).
I still haven’t indulged in an old school straight edge shave, but I’d imagine that to be the pinnacle shaving experience. Some day…
Oh, you should totally get a straight edge shave sometime. I occasionally get one at the barber shop (~$10) when I want to pamper myself … you kinda feel like a king.
Sold! Although I feel like I need a special occasion to indulge. Maybe for the b-day this year.
There’s a barbershop here in San Francisco that’s perfect for this (http://www.1512barbershop.com). Cool shop, very traditional as you can see from the homepage pic. I wonder if a scotch on the rocks and a cuban cigar comes with the shave.
