So a little over 20 miles in the park today … 3 hours 27 minutes, 58 seconds. Not sure of the exact distance, but 58:07 for the second 6.0273 loop (9:38 pace) and 1:03:32 (10:32 pace) for the third. So if we assume an even 10 min/mile pace for the whole thing, it was 20.8 miles. Rather slower than the 19 1/2 I ran in January … bleah. Just didn’t have much energy or speed.
Rather than my usual trick of hiding Gatorades and a banana in a plastic bag under a bench, this time I just took cash and tried to buy Gatorades from the park vendors. Only the first time there was a line, and the second the Gatorade was so cold, it was all slushy. As in, so slushy it wouldn’t come out the mouth of the bottle. I had to run with it and shake it. Bleah bleah.
And I coulda used a banana on the course. I need to buy some Gu.
