I sometimes run with my friend M. — who kicked my arse in the NYC marathon. We have a 12-mile run scheduled for Saturday, in fact. In our last couple runs since the marathon I got the sense she’d been … well, not slacking, but spending more time spinning than running. So today she told me she had done 60 minutes on the treadmill on the “fat burner” workout at level 20. So I figured I would do the same. Just five minutes into the workout I realize that this is crazy and I’m never going to manage to finish this workout. I downgraded the intensity, then downgraded again at the 10-minute mark … finished the workout at level 14. Yikes. But still, not a bad workout. Supposedly climbed 406 flights of stairs.
