For some reason the NYRR website is down. But I was just under about 1:13 for the Frostbite 10miler, or roughly a 7:15 pace. I don’t want to say I’m satisfied, because that’s still about three minutes over my PR. But I ran 7:32s at the Hot Chocolate 15K, so can’t be too unhappy about this.
There are some people I see consistently at race after race. Most frequently there’s this guy who seems to run each and every race in a bright green soccer jersey that says “Alexis” and the number 1. I would pass him a lot in the races leading up to the NYC Marathon, but in the race itself he passed me and didn’t look back. Today, however, I passed him before the three mile mark.
I definitely “zoned” the last two miles as I sought to catch up to a guy in a Red Sox cap I had chatted with briefly earlier. I did, in fact, catch him, but then I was surprised to see him in front of me after I finished. I’m not sure whether he passed me before or after the finish line. Hmm.
I have added a few Hell’s Kitchen blogs I found on the nyc bloggers map to my blogroll. Check out WhatISee, a photoblog; Ridiculous Chick, the bedbug girl; Drunk and Single in NYC, which is pretty self-explanatory; and When Life Effs You in the A.
