latest update to running mix

Okay, if it’s a rainy Friday, that can only mean I’ve been tinkering with my running playlist. The latest changes:

ADDED:
Rob Zombie – More Human than Human
Public Enemy – Fight the Power
Foo Fighters – Everlong
Basement Jaxx – Red Alert
Rocky Horror Picture Show – The Time Warp
Everclear – Heartspark Dollarsign

DELETED:
U2 – Elevation
Rage Against the Machine – Bullet in the Head
Guns ‘n Roses – It’s so easy
Rolling Stones – Brown Sugar
Rolling Stones – Jumpin’ Jack Flash
Cake – I Will Survive
Madonna – Ray of Light (Ultraviolet Mix)

I had to be a little ruthless, here, deleting some good running songs. But I want a good mix without too many tunes by the same artist.

Date Rape by Sublime is also a good, fast running song.

By the way, when you say you ran a mile, or five, or whatever, does that mean without stopping?

I tried to run a mile yesterday but I stopped every two blocks to walk.

  • When I did my 18 miler on Saturday I probably stopped briefly five or six times to drink from the water fountains. And once to tie my shoes. Other than that it was without stopping.

However when I first started running, in high school, I couldn’t run a mile without stopping to walk. Just keep at it.

I aim to keep at it…twice a year. Next run will be in October.

  • I don’t see what you get out of it, going once in a blue moon. Running can be really tough when you’re just starting out, because your body isn’t used to it. But when you can go for 40 minutes without huffing and wheezing and thinking you’re about to die, that’s when it starts getting enjoyable.

Try it for like everyday, six times a week for three weeks Caren. That’s enough to give running a fair shake. You must have some interest or you wouldn’t have gone. Running really has done a lot for me in terms of my confidence, my self-image, my body… it is a great sport.

    Oooowwww…I need a nap.

I did it because I figured it would be a nice change from getting on the treadmill, which I do every day. But I like the treadmill better. Just the thought of running and then having to come all the way back tuckers me out.

    Yawn.

    Hey Derek

I need some motivation. What’s your most update mix?
