So just a 1:45:25 in the Bronx half-marathon this morning. 8:02 pace. Lots of excuses I could use: left hamstring was tight. It was kinda hot (76 deg.). And I didn’t run a smart race. (The 7:20 pace for first three miles was too fast).
But really, the fact is I just haven’t been very focused in my training. I think this anonymous commenter was correct when he said that it wasn’t a great plan to run without a goal in mind. Sigh. I’m definitely looking at a fall marathon, possibly New York.
Also thinking of hiring an Internet running coach. And the Daily News gym is selling two used Cybex Trotter 640 treadmills for $300 (each)! They are as-is, but I had a run on one Saturday and it seemed to work fine. The treadmills retail for nearly $7,000 and fetch around $1,600 refurbished, so this seems like a great deal. I’ve just got to find out if I can find a space for one…
