Via OpinionJournal, here the Sacramento Bee credulously repeats the hoax about a U-Mass student being visited by the feds after ordering Mao’s “Little Red Book” via interlibrary loan … the same story the Standard-Times acknowledged as a hoax three days ago.
“What else is on that ‘watch list’ — Karl Marx’s ‘Communist Manifesto’ or ‘Das Kapital’?” the Bee writes in its editorial. “Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’? Other staples in the history of political thought courses?”
Uh. C’mon guys. I wouldn’t expect this level of sloppiness from a blog. The Bee, incidentally, is the same paper that has had ethics problems with four of its reporters in the past 11 years, including Diana Griego Erwin, a columnist who fabricated things for years.
