This photo, taken Oct. 11, is of the southeastern corner of Ground Zero, Church and Liberty streets. It’s the future site of 4 World Trade Center aka 150 Greenwich St., a planned 64-story office tower designed by Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki. This is where most of the activity at Ground Zero seems to be occurring — at least the work that’s visible to me. There are five backhoes that are loading dirt and debris (what looks to me to be metal scraps and large pipes or girders) into a constant stream of dump trucks. Then the dump trucks cart the debris off somewhere. This doesn’t go on quite 24/7, but I’ve the backhoes operating well past midnight, illuminated by a floodlight or two, and as early as 6 a.m. on a Saturday.
Pretty weak that given the circumstances for a blog about the Red Sox, all you have are WTC photos…. In the words of Eric Cartman, “Totally weak.”
Good call on the red sox. Though I’m not sure that I need to read about them putting up huge numbers of runs and just trouncing the indians as they did during the last two games.
