So I am getting a jump start on the Goals for 2008. I have decided to label this week -1 and next week week 0, so as to start 2008 on week 1. (However I want full credit for everything I accomplish in the waning days of 2007!)
Here is my progress so far.
1. Fitness. Just did 17 pullups (+2 over last week), 56 situps in two minutes (+0), and a 19:13 three miler on the treadmill at 1% grade. I’m not sure how I should count treadmill miles as I think they are much easier than a road race. (But also more convenient, obv.) I also decided to add a pushup component since the Modell’s multibar I do my pullups on easily lets you do pushups. I only did 25 w/o stopping, though, but I think the multibar pushups are harder as it lets you dip deeper. I can do more than 25 regular pushups… 😉
2. Weight. 176.5 on my bathroom scale, up from 174 last week. BOOO.
3. Debt. $6,981.28, down from $9,112.08 last week. Hurray for paychecks and refund checks! (I don’t expect to make such progress every week).
Since I did not make progress on Goal #2 I am throwing away the candy that H. gave me at her party. Sorry, H. I am also not buying any beer for my apartment this week. However I reserve to right to drink the bottles I have and drink on social occasions this week. Further I pledge to have a salad for lunch at least twice this week.
I intend to post these updates weekly … please harass me if I haven’t done so by midweek. There will also be “punishments” (like the no-buying beer) for weeks I have not made any forward progress. If backsliding continues I will step up the punitive measures.
P.S. I am still encouraging people to post resolutions on their blogs or in the comment section here and publicly keep track of their progress.

Great work, especially at getting your debt load down. One step at a time:-)
[…] a little, but I’m going to count it. And on the run … it looks like my best time was 19:13 on the treadmill back last January. Honestly, I’ve slowed down a bit. I had this lingering foot/ankle injury […]
