Hello my homophobic blog-readers! Afraid of a few pictures of shapley male behinds. I am in Chicago where the weather is just gorgeous … so much nicer than muggy Noo Yawk. Went for a run in Grant Park and along the lake this morning and last night I went to the Billy Goat, this subterranean dive bar/cheeseburger joint that is sorta across from and beneath the Chicago Tribune building. (It turned out several WSJ and Dow Jones people were there as well… I guess kinda a famed journalism hangout, although less so now that the Sun-Times isn’t also located in the area).
My 7:35 a.m. flight here from Newark on Thursday was delayed until 11 a.m., alas, as the storms in NYC Wednesday night had caused cancellations. So I was hanging out in the airport for quite awhile… file under: should check on delays before leaving for the airport.
Am staying in the Congress Plaza Hotel on Michigan Ave., a 2 1/2-star joint that was once probably pretty spectaculr. Lots of marble and high ceilings. Now it starting to look just slightly shabby and could use a renovation. Still, it is nice and clean, opposite the park and not too far from the conference center. (And cheaper than the conference hotels).
