Why I am secretly hoping for a transit strike
- New Yorkers need to get even more exercise.
- Now that I’m a Manhattanite, I’m disdainful of the B&T crowd. Nevermind that I was among their ranks a few short weeks ago.
- I’d like to see the city in (nonviolent) chaos. It sells more papers, and, thus, helps secure my employment prospects.
- I’ll get to use my bike more!
- I like the thought of Mayor Bloomberg sleeping in the OEM building.
- STRIKE … strike. The very word reminds me of baseball season!
- I’m done with all my Christmas shopping, anyways.
- We might to get to see more pix of sleeping reporters on Gawker.
- One word: OVERTIME.
>>Now that I’m a Manhattanite, I’m disdainful of the B&T crowd.
But Jerseyans can still get to Manhattan, yet, you can’t get around your own city.
Poo on you!!
You know, I honestly think it might be interesting for a day or two. Any further than that, and that 4 mile walk to work over the Manhattan Bridge in 30 degree weather that I would have to take is NOT going to be fun.
if i’m walking 70 blocks each way to work, i’m working an abbreviated workday 🙂
All teachers are secretly hoping for a strike like myself b/c:
1) We can come in two hours later
2) None of the kids will be able to get to school (FREE TIME FOR US!)

Except that I work in the South Bronx and live in Midtown. I’m not so sure I like the fact that I will likely have to take a sick day if Metro North strikes too…
Ahh…perhaps I can get my runs in via commuting to work….3.5 miles each way. Hmm…
yeah i thought about that too! but no shower facilities at the office…which wouldnt be pretty in the case of an impromptu client meeting like today…
i’ve already made the executive decision i’m working from home tomorrow anyway…
