bad blogger…

Sorry the blog has been so boring lately. With the new job I’m not supposed to blog much about journalism-related topics. With the new girlfriend I’m in a good, drama-free relationship so don’t have too much to say about dating contretemps. With the Red Sox off-season and the Patriots eliminated there isn’t much to say about that. And with some pain in my left knee I’ve still been running, but not as much or as strenuously — although that appears to be improving, thankfully.

I will say that I have invited C. to my brother’s wedding in the Hawaiian island of Kawa’i this September, which should be fun. The Lonely Planet guidebook on the state I ordered on Amazon just arrived yesterday. Does anyone have suggestions on itineraries? I was thinking we might stay for a week and maybe also visit Maui or the “Big Island.”

Also have a trip to Venezuela planned with C. — accompanying her on a work trip. So between the two those should be my big vacations for the year…

But anyway, those won’t be for awhile, so I feel like I need a new topic or two to blog about. I am open to suggestions, keeping in mind that I basically can’t blog about anything news-related, esp. politics. Maybe… personal finance?

Hopefully I will start working an earlier shift soon so I can do more Hell’s Kitchen bar reviews…

    Venezuela… Yikes! Watch yo back!

  • Derek, my name is Robert Key and I am a runner from Houston, Texas. I saw your blog listed when I was looking through the RBF directory and very much enjoyed reading some of your entries. You obviously have a wide array of interests in addition to your running. I have a web site at http://www.faithfulsoles.com that is inspirational stories for walkers, runners and athletes of all ages and abilities. A new feature I have recently added to the site is a categorized and searchable Running Blog Database where members of my site can find a blog of interest to them based on other walkers, runners or athletes of similar abilities, goals and interests. To my knowledge it is the only one of its kind specifically for walkers and runners on the internet. I would appreciate it if you would take a moment to put a link to your blog in our Running Blog Database. Just click on “Link your running blog” under “Free Features” from the home page. If you want to learn more about my running background, just click on “Meet Robert” from the main menu , or to learn more about my involvement in the running community, click on “Faithful Soles in the news” in the left column under “Weekly Features”. I also have a blog that I just started at http://faithfulsoles.blogspot.com, but most of my running information is on my web site. Also, if there is anyone else in your blogger network that you think would be interested in listing their blog, please feel free to pass this information along to them. Thanks and continued good luck in your training.
