  • OhBloodyHell

It may not be a laughing matter, but it’s clearly the way it should be. It’s a simple matter of responsibility. If Judith Miller believes in the need to protect these people, she needs to be willing to stand by that protection with her own life and substance.

Otherwise, we are suggesting that a cop should be free to run and hide when a firefight breaks out, or a fireman to refuse to go into a burning building to rescue people.

She’s made a choice. She can stand by that and pay the price, if she believes it is important enough.

This ain’t no rat-infested, gruel-eating chain gang, here. I’d suspect she is getting fairly respectful treatment from those in charge. At some point, either the judge will say “enough” or she will.

One thing is pretty likely — she isn’t protecting a member of the GOP, I’ll lay odds.

  • Actually, I think it’s fairly probable that she is protecting a member of the administration, just like Matt Cooper nearly went to jail to protect Karl Rove.

And yeah, Miller will be freed when the grand jury’s term expires … I think that’s next month.

I really haven’t posted too much about this case just because many of the facts are so muddled, so it’s hard to have an intelligent opinion. Hopefully things will be cleared up in a few months.

I did think it was an interesting sign though.
