“Blogger romance”

Are you a blogger? Have you ever met one of your fans in “real-life” and hit it off? Or are you a blog-reader and dated someone you met because of their blog?

Would you be interested in being in a newspaper?

Basically, I have been assigned to write a story about “blogger romance” … presumably a story I was assigned because I have a blog, I guess.

Basically, the back story here is, this is a story that blogger Dawn Eden (and new NYDN copy editor) pitched to my editor-in-chief:

[dawn asked me to delete this]

I know this happened to her, but I have to admit I am a bit dubious it occurs often enough to merit a story. But (if any editors are reading this…) I am certainly devoted to checking it out thoroughly — it would not be the first time I was wrong about a story assignment.

In any case, if the answer to the above questions if yes, I’d like to hear from you. drose{at}edit.nydailynews.com.

P.S.: Also, my editor suggested I include a list of eligible blogsters or blogettes. Nominate someone! Nominate yourself! Think of the traffic you’ll get!

P.P.S.: Michael Malice was kind enough to post an advertisement on the OverheardinNewYork site and I’ve actually been getting some good responses … Also Jessica Coen of Gawker has promised to share some dish with me tomorrow. Maybe this will pan out into a good story after alll…
